MSP PROVIDER COMPARISON

Benchmark365 vs Sherweb Helpdesk

Benchmark365 and Sherweb both offer branded helpdesk support for MSPs. Start with the working queue and escalation boundary: Benchmark365 says its staff use its own systems despite PSA integration; Sherweb mirrors HDC activity internally and its SOW defines when work can return to your team.

Consider Benchmark365 when

  • You can operate a provider-owned working queue and specify which PSA updates must synchronize back to your MSP.
  • You want to price actual support usage and can obtain the usage unit, billing currency and included capacity above its stated monthly minimum.
  • You can plan the first overnight shift separately from initial onboarding and local-business-hours support.

The Benchmark365 FAQ (external website) specifically names HaloPSA and ConnectWise Manage. That is useful product detail, but a product name leaves field mappings, approvals, attachments and failed-sync recovery to settle. Ask for the exact ticket changes your technicians will see without logging into a second queue.

Consider Sherweb when

  • You want proposals for per-seat, per-ticket or dedicated helpdesk models against the same ticket sample.
  • Phone, chat, email and HDC intake match your users, with the purchased staffed window documented separately.
  • You can retain the escalation capacity required by the agreed support tier and handback rules.

Sherweb's service page advertises L1-L2. Its helpdesk SOW, page 8 (external website), describes Tier-1 duties and permits reassignment for work outside scope, insufficient documentation or an expected resolution over 30 minutes. Treat the purchased boundary as a question for the SOW; a marketing tier label alone cannot tell you which tickets your team will still receive.

Commitment and exitThe FAQ advertises monthly-to-annual options. Public agreement clause 4.1 states a five-year initial term; clause 4.3 separately permits termination with notice and possible costs. Confirm the incorporated agreement version and Order Form before treating the service as a monthly commitment. Public agreement / 2026-10-17 (external website) Help desk FAQ / 2026-10-17 (external website)The published service schedule states a 12-month minimum from service commencement. The comparison method distinguishes published conditions from measured service quality.

Trace one ticket through both queues

Use one ordinary request and one case requiring MSP approval. List the intake channel, client mapping, allowed action, approval owner, status changes and accepted handback. Then check where the complete conversation and attachment history can be exported.

For Benchmark365, compare the provider's working queue with the synchronized PSA view. For Sherweb, compare HDC and the internal ticket copy described in the helpdesk SOW, page 3 (external website). Decide which system holds the final decision and who repairs a failed update. Both checks are proposal requirements, without assuming direct work inside your PSA.

Compare commitments before monthly invoices

Benchmark365's FAQ describes monthly-to-annual options, while agreement clause 4.1 (external website) states a five-year initial term. Clause 4.3 separately provides a termination route with notice and possible costs. Obtain the incorporated version and Order Form, then price the actual exit scenario.

Sherweb's helpdesk schedule (external website) states a 12-month minimum and remaining minimum-term fees for early convenience termination. Compare the last paid day, final service day, export and transition obligations for your proposed order. Neither a monthly invoice nor a billing-unit choice answers the cancellation question.

Request the same workload

Send both providers the same supported users, ticket categories, monthly demand, staffed hours, critical escalation path and identity checks. Ask for ordinary usage, a busy month and an exit scenario in the quote comparison worksheet. Keep NOC monitoring and remediation outside this helpdesk quote unless separately scoped.
