How MSP Shortlist evaluates evidence
Understand source labels, inclusion, comparison rules and how missing or changing provider information is handled.
Source hierarchy

| Independent evidence | A primary independent record with scope and date. | It supports only the specific claim and period covered. |
| Unknown publicly | The reviewed source set does not establish the field. | It is not a negative rating or proof of absence. |
| Conflict or stale evidence | Sources disagree or the review interval has passed. | A claim must be rechecked before it can guide a current commercial decision. |
Provider inclusion and comparisons
Providers enter the research set when an official source describes relevant MSP NOC, help desk, white-label or adjacent operations work. Adjacent providers retain their scope limitations. Directories use alphabetical order. Comparisons use identical field definitions and show gaps; no inferred star ratings, first-hand tests or universal winners are published.
Review intervals

Corrections and change control
Material corrections must update the visible claim and its cited record together. Conflicting sources require a narrower, dated explanation. A page update does not automatically refresh the date of the underlying provider evidence. The current provider records were checked on 20 September 2026.
Buyer responsibility
Use this material to prepare questions and compare proposals. Confirm current terms, security evidence and operational fit directly with each provider. Keep a dated copy of the agreed scope and the tests supporting your decision.
